Organisational Structure
The Provost Division
The Provost Division is one of six central or administrative budget divisions at the University, and provides leadership, strategy and central service provision in Learning and Teaching, Participation and Engagement, Student Services and Scholarly Information.
The Provost formally heads the Division, which comprises around 500 staff across two main groups – Student Services and the Library – and three stand-alone departments.

Office of the Provost
The Office of the Provost (OP) both leads and supports the development, delivery and excellence of the University’s curriculum, social inclusion agenda, and student services. The Office provides support to the Provost, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Pro Vice-Chancellor (Participation and Engagement) and the Executive Director (Student Services) and Academic Registrar, and coordinates divisional planning and budget processes.
Student Services Group
Led by the Executive Director (Student Services) and Academic Registrar, the Student Services Group delivers coordinated administration, systems, programs and services that foster student progress and success and support the physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing of the University community. Services are provided using a mixture of online, telephone and face-to-face delivery for all cohorts, complemented by specialist support for groups with specific needs.
Library Group
Under the direction of the University Librarian, the activities of the Library Group provides lending services, Student IT and Library research support, leadership and support in eLearning, copyright information and compliance activities and e-scholarship research. The group also manages a range of cultural collections and the University Archives.
Murrup Barak
The Murrup Barak - Melbourne Institute for Indigenous Development operates across four program areas: services to support Indigenous students; activities to enhance the productivity and impact of teaching, learning and research in Indigenous Studies; University-wide activities that create an enabling institutional environment; and external relationships and partnerships.
Melbourne University Sport
Melbourne University Sport manages and delivers sport, fitness and recreation programs and facilities to the wider University community: students, staff and alumni.
