Working Groups
Six specialised working groups have been established to assist in addressing the terms of reference of the Towards 2011 Project.
The working groups will make recommendations to the Steering Committee with a view to submitting a consolidated Towards 2011 Project (Preliminary) Report to Senior Executive and Academic Board in November.
Working Group A will make recommendations on the profile and distinctiveness of graduate programs to be offered at the University from 2011 in light of market demand and the expectations of students and employers.
Working Group B has been asked to consider the relationship between research training pathways and graduate programs and their alignment with the University’s research strategy.
Working Group C is examining systematic quality assurance processes to ensure the excellence of our graduate programs, and selection and approval processes – including internal and lateral pathways – to facilitate broad access to these programs.
Working Group D is focusing on internal and external marketing and recruitment, including the marketing of graduate pathways under the Melbourne Model to high school students, pathways advising to undergraduate students, and the recruitment of students from other universities and offshore.
Working Group E is investigating appropriate pricing for graduate programs, strategies to attract students from more diverse backgrounds, and a scholarship program that reflects the changing graduate student profile.
Working Group F will propose course delivery mechanisms and support services for graduate students to facilitate engagement with the graduate community and with the University.
